Flight 444
Controversy errupted on Tuesday 24th July when one of the main undercarriage wheels fell from WA444 en route from Taree
to Sydney carrying 25 passengers.
The aircraft, a de Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q300, was climbing through 800ft after takeoff from Taree when air traffic
control reported seeing debris falling from the aircraft. The aircraft was alerted to the sighting and then relayed to ATC
that there was a fault in the right main undercarriage. The aircraft was then diverted back to Taree where the pilot executed
a perfect belly up landing
The picture on the left is the missing wheel that may be located anywhere between Cundletown and the Taree CBD. If the
wheel happens to be found please get in contact with Juan Rodriguez asap as Wingside does not have the finances to replace
the missing wheel
